Stupidnation is a NU metal band from Indonesia, Stupidnation was created in September, 30, 1998. At first this project was not seriously with a music industry projects, just like recording, promo tour, concert, and all things about money. This band was just for fun, and just for boring affected by another kind of genre in music around the world. All members in band with all of skill and perspective just think about music industry, and then “just for fun” was gone, and this band growth bigger and bigger, start away for recording and making a lot of songs in studio. Finally the first album of stupidnation was released in the middle of 2001, the album’s title is PURITY. This album was recorded in “ K ” studio in Indonesia, this album composition just like more ethnic percussion played in many songs in this album. In this first album, stupidnation was not concentrated with ethnic played in songs, but stupination was give a music’s compositions like funk, rap, and sometimes jazzy, but it’s being packaging in one line, NU metal.
The first album was passed by the time, with all kind of concert and promos, the experience with the first album “PURITY”, gives a motivated on stupidnation to step in the next level, stupidnation thinking about a second album. This band think about a next step because, their brain is growth everyday more and more, breathe and live in the earth, with all of bullshit, “politricks” (politic tricks), social and all polite, makes this band decided give a second album name with “ WORLD’S WASTE “. This album was released in February, 2008. There are 14 songs in “WORLD’S WASTE “album. This album was start proceed in 2005. That was ironic why this band took time so long. The problem is in the line up of the band self. Different opinions and ideas make it all such a problems. Stupidnation in the middle in a second album process, have 7 members in band, with 2 vocalists. 7 members make this band difficult to penetrated ideas to make a song. But time is running out and all of problems seem so far away for this band, because many kind of anger and emotional to throw on public by the second album “WORLD’S WASTE” prefer than intern band’s problems. The compositions are not so far away from the firs album of stupidnation. In the second album stupidnation still have a NU metal line, with all off compositions just like, funk, jazz, death metal, trash metal, which blended in groovy NU metal for all songs by stupidnation.
About Performance
About performance, now stupidnation choose to wearing a face painting prefer than wearing mask like before, since 1998. stupidnation choose this, because mask is more heavy, hot, and it’s hard to take a breathe if we got a stage in hall with full of smoke of cigarette, and we always breathless after that. Face painting is more comfort than mask, more easy to take a breathe, and also feel like wearing nothing in face, but it makes a several minutes to painted a motif in face. Stupidnation decide to wearing face painting to all of live performance because we have an imagination, emotion, anger, creativity, and power to show of. With this, we show for all of people what we want in music, with all of strange performance like us, and metal music like we made, and that’s for all we did because we can and we want.
